To check if the embroidery is handmade – look for the mild imperfections at the back of the product and observe the little variation in the size of stitches, knots, and messy thread endings. Every work in hand embroidery is unique to the person who stitched the garment, unlike machine embroidery where every stitch is very uniform and identical.

Question HOW DO I KNOW IF THE PASHMINA YOU ARE SELLING IS ORIGIONAL?
AnswerAt Urzuv, we sell only pure hand woven pashmina. To distinguish between a real pashmina from a fake one –  here are some simple checks you can do!

  • Pure Pashminas are very soft, delicate & warm,  the touch itself is the biggest indicator of purity
  • A handwoven piece will have some irregularities in the weave & the easiest giveaway are the edges – they will be slightly wavy at places.  Check the weave against the light, you will be able to see the subtle imperfections
  • A piece made from Ladakhi fibre will always have guard hair. Guard hair is the outer layer of hair on a Pashmina goat which is separated from the fine inner fleece. While most of it is removed while processing the inner fleece, some remnants of the guard hair always remain
  • Genuine Pashmina will always carry a label and it will not be very shiny

AnswerWhile we have made every effort to display all colors as accurately as possible, there may be variations in color and embellishment of the actual product against that as shown on the website.
